Clever is an easy way for students to log in to the websites to which CCPS has a subscription.  Your child logs in using "s" and then his or her lunch number (example:  s45678).  The password is your child's birthday (example:  01022000)


You can visit Discovery Education for some homework help videos on a variety of topics.

Khan Academy covers topics in all of the major subject areas.  There are videos, lessons, and activities to do.  It's a great way to practice and review!  You do need to register, but it is free.


Practice your typing skills at Typing Club for free!


English/Language Arts


Raz-Kids is a subscription that your students have access to through the ESOL program.  Your child should be using this program at school, but can also access it at home and on any smartphone or tablet by downloading the free app.  If you aren't sure how to log in, talk to your child's ESOL teacher.


ICT Games focuses on a variety of language skills, and the skills are separated by grade level.


ABCya is another site that has lots of different literacy and math games on it.

Click here to view the International Children's Library.  Books are often available in a variety of languages!


Storyline is another way to listen to and read well-known books online. 


Epic is an online program where thousands of ebooks are available for students to read.  You can access this on Clever.


Book Flix is an online reading resource that pairs classic video storybooks with related nonfiction eBooks to build a love of reading and learning. BookFlix reinforces early reading skills and introduces children to a world of knowledge and exploration.  Contact your child's teacher for subscription information.


Tumblebooks requires a subscription, but we have access through Clever!


Highlights Kids has lots of fiction and nonfiction reading, as well as crafts and experiments for students to try.


Do you like to write stories?  My Story Book is a way for you to write and illustrate an ebook.  You can even go back and read all of the past stories you have written.

Spelling City is a good way for kids to practice their spelling words.  Lots of teachers use this in their classrooms.


Room Recess is for kids to practice reading and math using a game format.  These are fun, high-interest games that the kids will really enjoy!


Complete some of these Wacky Web Tales to participate in a Mad Lib activity.


This Learn Zillion website requires you to register for the site, but it is free.  It includes a lot of information and learning videos about Common Core concepts.



Story Time From Space allows students to listen to books read by astronauts who are in space!  This is a pretty unique story time!

Mo Willems invites you to his studio every day for his lunch doodle.  Kids can draw, doodle, and explore new ways of writing by visiting his studio every day while schools are closed.

While schools are closed, Scholastic has posted a variety of interesting articles, videos, and activities.  They are separated by grade level.

There are lots of books to read on Funbrain!


Games to Learn English is a fun way to play interactive games while practicing your English skills.


Highlights Kids is a great website for learning videos, quizzes, experiments, and informational text.  You do not need a subscription to Highlights in order to access this!


If you are looking for some printable flashcards and worksheets, you can check out MES English.  


USA Learns is a website with lots of videos and activities to focus on listening, speaking, reading, writing, pronunciation, and grammar.  There is even a course you can take to become a US citizen!  This program is free, but you do need to register.  


Adventure Academy requires a paid subscription, but you can get your first month free!



Squiggle Park is a fun game for early readers!  It requires a free registration.


Ready for more a challenge than Squiggle Park?  Try Dreamscape to practice your reading comprehension skills!


Into the Book is a great way to learn and practice key reading strategies, such as summarizing, inferring, making connections, synthesizing, activating prior knowledge, evaluating, questioning, and visualizing.


Need to practice your grammar?  Classroom Cereal has short, printable story worksheets for editing.



Common Lit has reading passages with reading passages and discussion questions.

Facts for Me usually requires a subscription, but the website is offering free access right now.  Just log in with "read" as both the username and password.  There are TONS of informational text articles!

Math

Practice your multiplication skills with lots and lots of multiplication games!


Dreambox Learning is a school-based subscription for math skills.  You can access this on Clever.

Click here to play a variety of math games.  Make sure you choose the appropriate skill level!


ICT Games also has a lot of math games.  Just like the reading games, they are separated by grade level.


Math Playground has a lot of games focusing on a variety of skills.


Visit these multiplication games on Cool-Math Games to practice your multiplication skills!


Visit the Houghton Mifflin website to practice math concepts, get extra help, and get some tips on test preparation.


Study Jams has video lessons and songs for a variety of math (and science) topics.


Mr. Nussbaum has a great site that focuses on all of the major subjects.  Just be sure to pick your grade level at the top of the page!




If you need some help with basic math facts, check out Xtra Math.  You have to create an account, but it is free.

Science


Steve Spangler Science has all kinds of experiments, hands-on activities, and STEM.

Wonderopolis is a research website that has all sorts of information and research points.  Lots of teachers use this in the county as a safe place for their students to research.


Mystery Science usually requires a subscription, but it is free during the school closures.  There are lots of great science videos and experiments.  


Have you ever checked out Ask a Biologist?  There are so many interesting articles, activities, puzzles and quizzes.  Much of the information is even offered in other languages!


Reef Relief is posting daily videos to teach kids about marine life.  You can also visit their blog here to get printable activities related to each lesson.
