Clever is an easy way for students to log in to the websites to which CCPS has a subscription.  Your child logs in using "s" and then his or her lunch number (example:  s45678).  The password is your child's birthday (example:  01022000)


You can visit Discovery Education for some homework help videos on a variety of topics.


Hippocampus is a fantastic website that features online textbooks for a variety of subjects and video tutorials for tons of topics.

Khan Academy covers topics in all of the major subject areas.  There are videos, lessons, and activities to do.  It's a great way to practice and review!  You do need to register, but it is free.


Brain Pop is a website that has video lessons in all of the major subjects.  It requires a log-in, but all middle schools and high schools have a subscription that you can access through Clever.

Are you taking an AP class?  Here is a link to tons of resources to help you review for the AP test!  It includes reviews, trivia, and study guides!


English/Language Arts

Raz-Kids is a subscription that your students have access to through the ESOL program.  Your child should be using this program at school, but can also access it at home and on any smartphone or tablet by downloading the free app.  If you aren't sure how to log in, talk to your child's ESOL teacher.


Click here to view the International Children's Library.  Books are often available in a variety of languages!  There are quite a few novels in this collection.


Storyline is another way to listen to and read well-known books online. 


Epic is an online program where thousands of ebooks are available for students to read.  Each school has a subscription, so contact your child's teacher for log-in information.  You can access it through Clever.


Book Flix is an online reading resource that pairs classic video storybooks with related nonfiction eBooks to build a love of reading and learning. BookFlix reinforces early reading skills and introduces children to a world of knowledge and exploration. 
A subscription is necessary, so contact your child's teacher for log-in information.
 


Highlights Kids has lots of fiction and nonfiction reading, as well as crafts and experiments for students to try.


Do you like to write stories?  My Story Book is a way for you to write and illustrate an ebook.  You can even go back and read all of the past stories you have written.


Visit Learning Chocolate to practice using all types of vocabulary.  The words are separated into categories.


Do you have to write a speech?  This will take you step-by-step through the process.


Visit ESL Gold for lots of practice reading, writing, listening, and speaking English!


Teen Reads allows students to read reviews of young adult literature, learn about authors, and check out book recommendations.


Tumblebooks requires a subscription, but we have access through Clever!


Mango is a great way to practice your English!  You can choose your home language and then each chapter is separated by grammar and conversation goals.


Quizlet is a free website that lots of teachers use across the content areas to practice vocabulary and concepts.  You can practice Quizlets made by your teacher, or you can search the website for Quizlets that are related to concepts you want to study.  


Quizziz is a similar website to Quizlet for practicing a variety of subjects and concepts.  Again, your teacher can share specific Quizziz quizzes for you to practice, or you can search for one.


You can practice your language skills using Duolingo.  This free site can start out very basic, or you can choose a more challenging level.  


Games to Learn English is a fun way to play interactive games while practicing your English skills.


If you are looking for some printable flashcards and worksheets, you can check out MES English.  


USA Learns is a website with lots of videos and activities to focus on listening, speaking, reading, writing, pronunciation, and grammar.  There is even a course you can take to become a US citizen!  This program is free, but you do need to register.  


Check out Dreamscape to practice your comprehension skills!


Into the Book is a great way to learn and practice key reading strategies, such as summarizing, inferring, making connections, synthesizing, activating prior knowledge, evaluating, questioning, and visualizing.

  
Need to practice your grammar?  Classroom Cereal has short, printable story worksheets for editing.

Common Lit has reading passages with reading passages and discussion questions.


Facts for Me usually requires a subscription, but the website is offering free access right now.  Just log in with "read" as both the username and password.  There are TONS of informational text articles!


Math
Study Jams has video lessons and songs for a variety of math topics.

IXL requires a subscription, but you can do 20 problems a day per computer for free.  It's a great way to practice math skills!


Math Planet has very simple explanations of a variety of math concepts.  At the end of each lesson are multiple examples and a video.


SOS Math has all of the major middle and high school math classes.  The explanations are pretty simple, but the best part is the self-checking practice problems they give at the end of each lesson.  It's a great way to review for a test or quiz!


Practice your multiplication skills with lots and lots of multiplication games!

Having trouble with algebra?  Visit this site for lots of helpful tips and practice worksheets.

AAA Math is online practice with a variety of math topics.

Interactive Math is another site with tons of lessons and explanations of high school math concepts.

If you need some help with basic math facts, check out Xtra Math.  You have to create an account, but it is free.

Need some help with math?  Visit this site and enter your math problem.  They will show you the step-by-step work to help you understand it.  You do have to register, but it is free.


Science
Study Jams also includes all sorts of science topics!

If you need more information about a specific science topic, this website may help.  You can have the vocabulary words and definitions read to you, and a lot of the text is available in multiple languages.  



If you are taking chemistry or biology this year, this website may be helpful.  It is run by a teacher and some of it is specific to his classes, but there are great reviews and mini-lessons.

Biology students, you don't want to miss this site!  It's completely devoted to the study of biology, and covers just about every concept you will learn.


Have you ever checked out Ask a Biologist?  There are so many interesting articles, activities, puzzles and quizzes.  Much of the information is even offered in other languages!


Reef Relief is posting daily videos to teach kids about marine life.  You can also visit their blog here to get printable activities related to each lesson.

You can watch a variety of biology simulations and play biology games here.

Social Studies
Ducksters is a great site to visit if you need to learn about a historical figure or country. It would be a fantastic resource for doing a biography project!


If you need to do a current event, you can visit this website for text and audio clips of the top news stories each week.  


Are you learning about the Holocaust?  Visit here to read more about it.  The information can also be translated into many different languages!  

This is a wonderful website that features a U.S. history online textbook, tons of history documents and primary sources, a database of research websites, and a collection of speeches by famous people in history that you can listen to.  If you have to do a research project, this would be a great place to visit!

Travel the world without ever leaving your house!  You can learn about other cultures by watching a variety of videos.
